Canadian industrial rock group MDM just won an award at the Canadian Niagara Music Awards as "Heavy Metal Group of the Year 2009". Subsequent to the prize giving ceremony (that was broadcasted live on television), MDM played a live gig and once more proved that they're an excellent live band.

From its chrysalis stage as a two-man project in the late nineties, Canada’s MDM has developed into a full-scale five-piece live machine. Constantly striving to create new grooves and riffs, MDM still manages to stay true and pay homage to the original pioneers of the industrial genre yet taking the sound to an exciting new level.

They have supplied music for films such as The Matrix Reloaded and Jimmy and Judy (winner of Best Film Award at the San Francisco Film Festival) and gained many fans with their albums and live activities (amongst others with KMFDM, Front Line Assembly, Econoline Crush). Especially with last year's album "Modern Digital Militia" singer Nux and his crew managed to serve an industrial rock rocket that conquered the scene and entered several top 100 year lists (f.e. number 7 at Razor Blade Dance Floor's 2008 Top 100 poll and number 15 at Industrialized Metal's Top 100 year list).

This summer MDM will finally make their live debut in Europe. On Sunday May 31st, the Canadian band is going to hit the stage at the German Wave Gotik Treffen in Leipzig (Parkbuehne, 04.30 pm). Don't miss it!
