After yesterday's news of the split up of Orphanage, there's more sad news:

Despite inking a brand new record deal for the European continent and terrific reviews for their latest album "Seven Circles" (album of the month in Dutch magazine AARDSCHOK), Jeff Martin has announced that he's leaving the Canadian rock trio to spend more time with his family and to finish his solo album; followed by a tour in support. This fact hasn't been officially been confirmed by the management, but Martin spoke freely of his departure in an interview with 97.7 HitzFM (Canadian radiostation; http://www.htzfm.com/ ). Drummer Jeff Burrows and bass player Stuart Chatwood are shocked and saddened by this sudden decision. Jeff Burrows replied on the German/European Tea Party site http://www.theteaparty.de/:

"This announcement is a shock to both me and Stuart. Jeff hasn't tried to contact the band, so I really don't know how to react to this. I have been genuine in ALL my interviews and never once lied to anyone. It's been fun, but... whatever happened has happened. With thanks and always much appreciation to all of the friends and fans, I bid you a very, very sad adieu." - J. Burrows

The Tea Party recorded 7 albums in their more than 15 years on the rock scene.
