Life of Agony - “S.O.S. World Tour” - Special guest: Doyle

LIFE OF AGONY emerged from the New York music scene in the early 90s with one of the most distinctive sounds in its genre. Best known for its 1993 Metal/ Crossover debut, ‘River Runs Red’ (Roadrunner Records), named by Rolling Stone as being one of the “100 Greatest Metal Albums of All Time” the band instantly built a die-hard, cult following. For over two decades, the group toured relentlessly all over the world, sharing stages with the biggest names in rock, including Metallica, Black Sabbath, Ozzy Osbourne, Foo Fighters, and THE RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS. LOA went onto release two more studio albums for Roadrunner: ‘Ugly’ (95) and ‘Soul Searching Sun’ (97), before signing to major label Sony/ Epic Records in 2005 to record ‘Broken Valley’ with producer Greg Fidelman (SLIPKNOT, METALLICA). LIFE OF AGONY has sold over one million albums to date.

In 2017, LOA released its 5th studio album, titled ‘A Place Where There’s No More Pain’. Rolling Stone hailed it as “One of the Most Anticipated Albums of the Year”. LIFE OF AGONY’s ‘A Place Where There's No More Pain’ is available on Napalm Records. The album was produced by Matt Brown & LIFE OF AGONY and mastered by Ted Jensen (ALICE IN CHAINS, MACHINE HEAD, DEFTONES).

On January 22, 2018, LIFE OF AGONY welcomed new drummer Veronica Bellino into the band, best known for her work with Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Jeff Beck, DMC, Richie Sambora/ Orianthi, and Carmine Appice/ Slamm. The current LIFE OF AGONY line-up features vocalist Mina Caputo, guitarist Joey Z, bassist Alan Robert, and drummer Veronica Bellino.

LIFE OF AGONY toured the USA and Europe in 2018 with its highly successful “Rise of the Underground” Tour 2018. The dates kicked off with two sold-out, hometown warm-up gigs April 18th & 19th at Saint Vitus in Brooklyn, and concluded November 2nd as headliners of The Sound of Revolution Festival in Eindhoven, Netherlands. The band closed out the year with TWO SOLD OUT co-headlining shows with scene veterans SICK OF IT ALL.

LIFE OF AGONY is putting the finishing touches on their hard-hitting, emotional concept album ‘The Sound of Scars’, due out this fall on Napalm Records! Produced by Sylvia Massy (TOOL, SYSTEM OF A DOWN), whose work has received multiple Grammy Awards and nominations, along with LOA’s Joey Z (with mixing duties helmed by Massy), have tapped esteemed engineer Howie Weinberg (NIRVANA, SOUNDGARDEN) to master the record. ‘The Sound of Scars’ continues the haunting narrative from the band’s ground-breaking 1993 debut ‘River Runs Red’.

“Sylvia has a deep understanding of what this band is all about and we’ve wanted to work with her for a very, very long time,” says bassist Alan Robert. “Especially, since this is a concept album continuing the story of River Runs Red, we’re extremely grateful to have her on board to help capture the darkness, raw emotion and heaviness of the new material.”

“LIFE OF AGONY began boldly over 25 years ago with its hard musical discourse into the human condition, a darkly hued story which continues to evolve today,” explains Sylvia Massy. “This is a unique band with a remarkable history of personal discovery - a phoenix tale of flight, fire and resurrection. This month we begin again to record the latest chapter. I am excited to be the witness to the creation of the new LIFE OF AGONY album!”

LIFE OF AGONY kick off “S.O.S. World Tour” starting in the UK this fall, with very special guests DOYLE! The tour will start in the UK and cover Denmark, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Austria, Germany and the Netherlands so far.

“There is something incredible happening around this ‘Sound Of Scars’ record and we can absolutely all feel it,” bassist Alan Robert comments. “To get out there and start playing these new songs for everyone is gonna be a blast... and to do it with our dear friend and musical hero, Doyle of the MISFITS fame, is definitely going to be a tour to remember. We’re already plotting some cool collaborations on stage! I’m packing my many, many MISFITS shirts!” (laughs)
