Preview Elbriot 2022 with Bullet for my Valentine, Accept, Alestorm, Caliban, Jinjer, Fever 333, Kissin’ Dynamite

On the 20th of August, Elbriot will go into the next round after a two-year break due to Corona. The festival, which took place for the first time in 2013, will attract around ten thousand metalheads to Hamburg's Großmarkt for the eighth time. As usual, the one-day Metal festival takes place in the middle of the city and is open-air. BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE is confirmed as the headliner. ACCEPT, ALESTORM, CALIBAN, FEVER 333, JINJER and KISSIN’ DYNAMITE are also confirmed.

BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE (often abbreviated as BFMV) is a British Metal band from Bridgend, Wales, formed in 1998 and can be classified as Metalcore. The band was formed in 1998 under the name JEFF KILLED JOHN as a NIRVANA and METALLICA cover band. With their 7th album ‘Bullet for my Valentine’, which was released in 2021, BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE wanted to develop further and take a more aggressive turn in Metal, they themselves call it “Bullet 2.0”.

ACCEPT emerged from the band X, founded by Udo Dirkschneider in 1968, which changed its name to ACCEPT in 1971. ACCEPT is a German Heavy Metal band that, along with the SCORPIONS, was one of the most internationally renowned groups in the German Rock scene in the 1980s. ACCEPT is one of the pioneers of the German Heavy Metal scene and had an international influence on various styles of Metal, especially Speed Metal and True Metal. ACCEPT released 16 albums in their more than 50 years of stage presence, the last one in 2021, which is called ‘Too Mean to Die’.

ALESTORM is a Scottish Folk Metal band. The band was formed in 2004 under the name BATTLEHEART. They describe their style as “True Scottish Pirate Metal” and released their 6th album ‘Curse of the Crystal Coconut’ in 2020. CALIBAN, named after William Shakespeare’s ‘The Tempest’, is a German Metalcore band. The band was founded in 1997 under the name NEVER AGAIN and is now considered, along with HEAVEN SHALL BURN, to be the most important representatives of German Metalcore. Their latest album ‘Dystopia’ was released this year.

The Ukrainian Metal band JINJER was founded in Donetsk in 2009. The quartet is particularly known for the distinctive growling of their singer Tatiana Shmailyuk and her commitment to aid organizations during the Ukrainian war. In 2021, JINJER released their fourth album ‘Wallflowers’. FEVER 333 is a rock band from California formed in 2017. The band released their first album ‘Strength in Numb333rs’ in 2019. the music is described as a mix of LIMP BIZKIT, RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE and LINKIN PARK. The German Hard Rock band KISSIN’ DYNAMITE, which consists of five members, was formed in 2002 from a school band. On 21 January 2022, the new and eighth album ‘Not the End of the Road’ was released, which reached number two in the German album charts.

With this line-up, the Elbriot is presenting an interesting mix this year; Rock, Metal, Metalcore, Heavy Metal and Folk will be played side by side, which should not only excite metal fans.
