E-Werk, Cologne, Germany
2nd July 2013
Vampire Weekend
VAMPIRE WEEKEND definitely not rush works on their new album. Or as singer and guitarist Ezra Koenig said: “I see no reason to rush it.” Anything should be perfectly balanced, the songs have to be rehearsed, the melodies should easily come along, arrangements should be well adjusted and the sound needs to be mixed very well to satisfy its creators.
But finally at the beginning of May it was time for the release of the third studio album ‘Modern Vampires Of The City’. Koenig says that the album is darker and more organic than the previous ones but is still connected to them. He also stated that the band is only as good as its songs and so, they took so much time to release the album. In July, the quartet will finally hit German stages. You shouldn’t miss their shows since VAMPIRE WEEKEND’s live shows are always a reason for a big celebration!
