That is a perfect chance to visit the most northern European capital and enjoy a live sound more than 90 bands and musicians! This is a unique opportunity to explore waterfalls and geysers of the country and combine it with a discovering of new rhythms! The festival was founded in 1999 in Reykjavik by Icelandair company and first time took place in airport.
During the years festival getting more and more popular and attracting thousands of fans of great sound every year. Airwaves is an event when you can hear the music from every corner of the city and choose where you belong to. Needless to say that all festival places located in a walking distance from each other. In previous years, Iceland Airwaves received such celebrities as Fatboy Slim, Kaiser Chiefs, Sigur Ross, Björk, GusGus and many others. This year, about 7,000 visitors are expected with an age restriction before 20 years old. On Iceland Airwaves festival everyone will find the music on own taste and experience the special party spirit the festival known for.
