loreena mc kennitt tour2027“A Historical and Musical Pilgrimage” - Award-winning Canadian singer and songwriter LOREENA MCKENNITT has just announced her European tour, featuring 30 concerts across nine countries, for spring 2027.

The “The Mask and Mirror 30th Anniversary Tour” will commence on 22nd February in Groningen, Netherlands, and conclude on 3rd April in Paris, France. Further concerts will take place in Germany, Poland, Hungary, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, and Great Britain.

These spring concerts form the third leg of McKennitt’s anniversary tour, celebrating her 1994 studio album ‘The Mask and Mirror’. The album is considered a milestone in her career and is lauded for its “cross-cultural fertilisation”, which blends Celtic, Spanish, and Moroccan influences. Upon its release, The Los Angeles Times described it as “music full of dark depths, spiritual longing and ancient sounds”. The album, which the artist herself refers to as “a historical and musical pilgrimage”, has sold over two million copies worldwide.

McKennitt states she has “followed paths of inspiration” and that the album “explores questions that echo through the centuries: Who is God? What is religion, what is spirituality? What was revealed and what was hidden, what was the mask and what the mirror?”

“We are thrilled to return to Europe for another chapter after the first part of our ‘The Mask and Mirror Anniversary Tour’ in summer 2024, which took us through Southern Europe and saw us perform at numerous open-air festivals,” McKennitt said. “It was fascinating to re-engage with music inspired by questions that illuminate not only the history of the Celts, but also the timeless themes of religion, spirituality, and moral dilemmas - themes that hold new relevance today. We can’t wait to see everyone again and share the music with you.”

The first half of each concert on the tour will feature “fan favourites”, while the second half will comprise all songs from the album in their original order. McKennitt will be accompanied by her musical companions Caroline Lavelle (Cello), Brian Hughes (Guitar), Hugh Marsh (Violin), Dudley Phillips (Bass), and Robert Brian (Drums).
