Dark Decadence Tour 2011: Hardcore Superstar, The 69 Eyes, Crash Diet
For fans of heavy Scandinavian metal there’s a real treat coming up with the Dark Decadence tour 2011 where 3 bands from Sweden and Finland are coming together, all indulging in different facets of the genre. The first one being HARDCORE SUPERSTAR, playing a bastard kind of music you won’t get to hear anywhere else. However, for the guys from Gothenburg it is absolutely no biggie mixing Sleaze Rock with Thrash Metal and throwing in cover versions ranging from THE WHO over ALICE COOPER over to INXS for good measure.
Co headliner of the evening THE 69 EYES are playing in a similar league, as well taking elements from the Sleaze Rock genre but adding a slice of Dark Metal which meet with the sonorous bass of singer Jyrki69 and his dark, Goth lyrics. On the other hand, however, the Finnish band has found their way back to the roots on their recent full-length ‘Back In Blood’. Straight back to the garage where they dusted off their old GUNS’N’ROSES records, had a good listen and recorded some pure Rock’n’Roll stuff.
Last but not least to mention there’s CRASH DIET who’ve caused quite a buzz in their native over their explicit show, including chainsaws, artificial blood and torture scenes. Surprising how this is still possible half a century after OZZY OZZBOURNE bit off heads of little birds on stage. Either way, CRASH DIET are in the tradition of bands like Mötley Crüe, W.A.S.P. or Kiss, taking good care of their hairs and are rocking straight and clear through the Hard and Hair rock repertoire. Altogether, the evening promises to bring the full potential of Scandinavian rock music to the stages.
