Hörnerfest
The roads near Hamburg will once more be a-clog when medievalists and metal heads converge on the small hamlet of Brande-Hörnerkirchen for the annual Hörnerfest on July 1st and 2nd. This is unashamedly my favourite of the smaller festivals, feeling more like a gathering of clan and brethren than a commercial venture so friendly is everyone.
Facilities are second to none with great food and drink, showers that work and are the right temperature and a well thought out and set up structure which means that nothing you want is ever very far away. Coupled with the fact that these guys seem in league with the sun god and always seem to have great weather, it's a festival you don't want to be missing. The quality of the bands on offer is always second to none and we can look forward to the return of NACHTGESCHREI, DRAGONFLUG as well as a host of others including headliners TANZWUT who always liven up any festival. Due to high request for Pagan Metal, promoters added Munich based THORONDIR to the line-up. The billing finally is completed by NARRENBART who will perform at the market stage. There will be an additional fire show presented by FLAMMENRAUSCH from Berlin; a juggler show is presented by IMMERNOCHFRANK. Festival tickets including camping are available for the modest price of €38 which comes on the coolest leather ticket you've ever seen!
