With their debut album ‘Climax’, Finnish BEASTMILK probably created one of the surprises of 2013 - they put forward a distinct mixture of Post-Punk and Gothic/ Dark Rock. Dominated by characteristic vocals and interesting lyrics, all songs convey melancholic and dark, yet not depressed moods. Especially the opener ‘Death Reflects Us’ and ‘Genocidal Crush’ have very catchy and remarkable choruses, yet are not too catchy or too simple.
Conclusion: ‘Climax’ offers a must-listen for any fan of alternative and dark music.
