BLACK 7 is a melodic instrumental Hard Rock project created by Lars Totzke. The project is based in Hanover. ‘Look Inside’ is the first full-length output of this project. Musically this is like Gus G’s last output a brilliantly played collection of instrumental pieces that were composed and arranged by Lars himself. Lars’ influences lie with artist like BLACK SABBATH, IRON MAIDEN, RAINBOW, SEVENDUST, DREAM THEATER, SLIPKNOT and KORN but also SATRIANI and GARY MOORE. The arrangements are complex yet heavy and very melodic. The sound feels like it might be influenced by the 70s and 80s fantasy movies like ‘Krull’ or ‘Beastmaster’ and would work perfectly fine for fantasy soundtracks. The only thing that always bugs me about instrumental releases is that for me a band stands and fall with the vocalist and without a vocalist a band can never really pique my interest, it always just feels like waiting for the vocals to finally come.
