BIM Fest Day 2: Clock DVA, Suicide Commando, Severed Heads, Pouppee Fabrikk, Section 25, Flesh & Fell, Turnbull A.C’s, Portrait Bizarre, Definitivos
Also the second day of BIM Fest had a great line-up to offer. Starting up at early afternoon with two Belgian guitar bands, there was more harder electro stuff coming up later with Swedish POUPPEE FABRIKK and local heroes SUICIDE COMMANDO having prepared a special oldschool set. With CLOCK DVA, the promoters once more had a fantastic headliner on the bill.

BIM Fest Day 1: Front 242, Severed Heads, The Anti Group, Pankow, A.A.A.K., Container 90
When the time has come to do the last preparations for Christmas, and the anticipation starts getting to unbearable due to the gifts that might be placed under the tree, the time has come for the yearly Belgian Independent Music Fest in Belgium. This year, the festival was celebrating its 10th anniversary. For this occasion, it has been extended to a two-day festival and already the first day had some great names to offer.

Covenant, Decoded Feedback & Patenbrigade: Wolff
In the course of the 'Modern Ruin' tour, COVENANT came to Germany for a few more shows, which were also the final leg of the tour. COVENANT already played a couple of fantastic gigs here early spring and also a breathtaking festival appearance at the Amphi in Cologne. RoD attended the final show in Krefeld, which just like the German gigs this spring had DECODED FEEDBACK and PATENBRIGADE: WOLFF as special guests again. Maybe it would have been even more interesting if COVENANT brought some other support bands for their second German leg of the tour. At least in theory, but the three bands did not just deliver a reprise of what they had to offer in April. And as Krefeld was the final gig of the 'Modern Ruin' tour, there was something special ahead, anyway.

Beth Hart, Stefan Schill
BETH HART has released several great albums over the years, and her shows in the Netherlands are mostly sold out every time she visits. Her latest album focuses on blues covers and is not as personal as the ones before. Her voice perfectly fits this style though and the collaboration with guitar player Joe Bonamassa is simply marvellous. In December BETH HART is doing a few shows in the Netherlands, and I’m curious whether the show will be mostly about her most recent album or if it will also cover her turbulent past.

Kantine, Augsburg, Germany
3rd December 2011
Covenant, Patenbrigade: Wolff, Decoded Feedback
This time, my slightly longer way led me to Augsburg to see quite a special concert once more: COVENANT was on the move on the second part of their ’Modern Ruin' tour for six concerts in Germany whereof only one was taking place in the south of Germany, namely in the Kantine Augsburg.
