Zeche Carl, Essen, Germany
19th October 2006
Clan of Xymox and Obscenity Trial
When arrived at "Zeche Carl", just a few people were waiting in the foyer of the location. "Zeche Carl" is a very charming nice location for little concerts and parties in an old converted coal-mine-building in Essen - the heart of the old German industrial area "Ruhrgebiet". Before the support band started, we just met Olaf Wollschläger and Andy Krüger (MELOTRON) at the venue. Olaf Wollschläger is the producer of the support act Obscenity Trial and is producing Melotron - a famous German Synth-pop-band - too. We took the chance to ask Andy Krüger, the singer of Melotro" about the progress of producing their new album and he told us that it succeeds so we can look forward to a new Melotron album in next year. By and by the location filled up and just in time Obscenity Trial started.

Pink and Lili
PINK just released a new album and when I heard that she was going on tour I thought I should give it a try and go there. What shall I say... if there is such a thing as "the show of the year", this might have been it. The presented music mix contained something for all different kinds of tastes and the acrobatic show was some kind of revolution. To top it off this perfect entertainment was not presented by one of the stylish mainstream artists but by the Enfant terrible of the pop scene.

Orkus Festival – Club Tour Part II: Down Below, Zeromancer, Unheilig, Project Pitchfork
Although we worried about a small amount of visitors, the Universum got filled until the beginning of the concerts. After three years I especially looked forward to see Zeromancer again. I visited the Universum for the first time so I had to look at the rooms first. The second party of the Orkus Club Tour was touring again through Germany. The bands fit together in their styles. Three of four bands were from Germany. Unfortunately they had to deal with technical problems through the whole evening and sometimes it really hurt my ears, but in summary this was a nice evening, sharing good music with friends.

Camouflage and Kolkhorst
Thinking of well-known 80ies music and 80ies Parties Camouflage are always part of it. Their hits “The Great Commandment” and “Love is a shield” are already evergreens. As we heard that they are back we were immediately looking out for the tour dates. The band comes from Bietigheim, Germany – right in the neighbourhood of Ludwigsburg. So this was announced as a kind of “home game”. So we were really impressed when we arrived at the Scala. There were only a few people standing in front of the location. We hoped, this would get better, but it wasn’t so. Although the families of the band members joined the concert, the room was hardly more than half filled.
