When one of Sweden’s top rock acts announces to play a couple dates in Germany, you can be sure that fact alone attracts lots of people. We were amongst them and a part of the spectacle that was the show of HARDCORE SUPERSTAR in Karlsruhe.

Just like HARDCORE SUPERSTAR, AVATAR comes from Gothenburg in Sweden. They had their debut in 2006 and supported IN FLAMES one year later. Their newest album will be out this November. Music & Performance
AVATAR's music is pretty melodic, yet still metal with the right sound for head banging and a fondness for speedy guitar parts and wild drumming. One could say their performance reflected exactly their genre. Excessive head banging was the main movement on stage, only the singer went around a lot. Very impressive was their lightshow and the very skilful drumming. The band was able to heat up the crowd, although only a few attendees were actually in front of the stage to watch the show.

Coming from Gothenburg, HARDCORE SUPERSTAR are one of Sweden’s top rock acts for more than 10 years now. Ever since their foundation in autumn 1997, this band is sort of riding on a wave of success and enrich the musical landscape of Sweden with several hits This summer, their 7th album ‘Beg for it’ has been released. Music & Performance
It's rather difficult to describe their music. They themselves call it "Street Metal", a fusion of thrash metal and sleaze rock, which is probably the best term for it, although they constantly tried and experimented with different styles, providing anything from calm ballads to more hardcore songs. To describe this show with one word: dynamic! Especially singer Jocke was giving it his all with jumping and running around the stage, so it was rather surprising he still managed to keep on singing - but he did. The others didn’t stand back either, so the whole band was providing a show which was more than worth attending with more than just one highlight. There was a part in which the drums were played by two drummers instead of only one and - as a little moment for calming down- a guitar and vocals only version of ‘Shame’, which they unfortunately didn't play until the end.
