Album Review

Amazing with what enthusiasm the musicians join the dying legion of the genres of the past, and how grateful the public is. But MONICA JEFFRIES deserves a victory on this field and fairly enough became a favourite of the critics and fans. As well as she was lucky enough to get a great chance by being signed on Trisol and share the stage with such major artists as THE CRÜXSHADOWS, PROJECT PITCHFORK, FRONT LINE ASSEMBLY, DAF.

Right after something stops being "old" it becomes "retro" and trendy. And as more time passes the more passion is included to preserve the past. So, there's nothing new in what MONICA JEFFRIES does, providing “her own contemporary interpretation” of the popular sound from the 80-s. Don't expect something totally surprising in the sense of music. The lyrics and tunes are... well, from the 80-s. Hard to imagine what else is possible to make in this direction to do something what the fans of this genre haven't heard yet. But the combination of the charming deep vocals and harsh electronic music absolutely leads into temptation to listen to it more. For a long time we haven't heard any interesting female voices. If you missed it too - you know which album to grab.
