METSATÖLL's new compilation album 'Vana jutuvestja laulud' got ready on 11th November, together with the new music video 'Vimm'. I was lucky to be in Estonia in the perfect moment to see the METSATÖLL promo concert on 18th November in Rock Cafe, Tallinn.

Taak

The evening started with TAAK, a Doom Metal band from Estonia, which set the floating atmosphere while METSATÖLL fans were arriving. TAAK is Mart Kalvet (vocals), Kristjan Virma (keyboard), Ville Veering (drums), Ott Oras (bass) and Urmas Jõgi (guitar).

Metsatöll

The audience didn't let the pause between concerts last long, continuous shouting "Metsatöll! Metsatöll!" brought the band on the stage. The concert was a great metal roller coaster of sixteen songs, filled with strong emotions and epic themes, in synergy with traditional instruments. It started with 'Külmking' (Malicious supernatural creature from Livonian folk believes) and ended with huge ovations, after which METSÄTOLL returned with the favorite Estonian song 'Oma laulu ei leia ma üles' (I Cannot Find My Song) and 'Lahinguväljal näeme, raisk!' (See You On The Battlefield!). The setlist was equally balanced between 'Vana jutuvestja laulud' songs and previous albums, while the most curiosity brought two brand new songs 'Vimm' (Spite) and 'Meri ja maa' (Sea and Land). METSATÖLL are: Markus "Rabapagan" Teeäär (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Lauri "Varulven" Õunapuu (guitar, lead vocals, traditional instruments), Raivo "KuriRaivo" Piirsalu (bass, backing vocals, contrabass) and Marko Atso (drums, backing vocals).
