The tour in autumn last year was almost completely sold out and there have been no tickets available for their encore show in Bremen for a few weeks now. For the show in Leipzig, there are only a few remaining tickets. No matter where RISE AGAINST are, their fans are everywhere with them. The political punks play another three shows in Hannover, Stuttgart and Dortmund in October. Those who don't want to miss out on that have to be quick! The guys are bringing their new record ‘The Black Market’ which reached the top position in the German charts immediately. No feet stand still during songs like ‘I Don't Wanna Be Here Anymore’ or ‘Tragedy + Time’ at the shows. But those songs do not only incite to dance or pogo, they have a serious background as singer and guitarist Tim McIlrath explains: “RISE AGAINST was always a political band but also a band which deals with very personal themes in their songs. Our songs have always united those two worlds and I personally find introspection plays a much bigger role on the new record”. Besides the music, RISE AGAINST are politically engaged and support organizations like PETA and Sea Shepherd. They also collaborated with Amnesty International's ‘Chimes of Freedom – The Songs of Bob Dylan Compilation’ and engaged with the ‘Demand a Plan’ movement against armed violence or acted strongly against homophobia and bullying in the frame of the ‘It Gets Better Project’ for which they wrote the song ‘Make It Stop (September's Children)’.
Those who will accompany the quartet from Chicago at the shows in Hannover and Stuttgart are already known. It is no one else but REFUSED! It promises to be punk rock evenings of the top class!
