Rise Against, The Killers, and about 30 further acts added to the line-up! There are some more names added to the Hurricane and Southside programme: with RISE AGAINST and THE KILLERS, two more Rock headliners joined the already confirmed five top acts. Additionally, promoter FKP Scorpio confirmed further artists to come to the versatile twin festivals in Scheeßel and Neuhausen ob Eck. As no other band, RISE AGAINST managed to combine hard riffs with vocal melodies. Their sound made of Melodic Punk and Hardcore works out so well, that even people that normally stay well clear of harder music find their full satisfaction. Actually, the four full-blooded musicians from Chicago target on the greater good: their music is perfectly staged, but without their political and socially critical lyrics, it won’t be what it is. Commercial success, energetic live shows at the biggest venues in front of millions of fans all around the world didn’t change the fact that RISE AGAINST make music to stand for their values.
Despite all success, THE KILLERS never forgot activism that from the beginning added so much energy to their Indie Rock. Between their foundation in Las Vegas via newspaper ad and Barack Obama’s invitation to the White House, there is a meteoric rise that turned the four band members from Nevada to one of the greatest Rock formation of the 21st century. Acclaimed performances in more than 50 countries, and shows at venues like Madison Square Garden or the Wembley Stadium created a legendary reputation that can’t be explained just by several number one albums. Fans of complex and high-quality Rock have the chance to convince themselves during the festivals in Scheeßel and Neuhausen, why the followers of THE KILLERS are called “victims” instead of “fans”.
Another band with a great reputation is the Indie group MANDO DIAO, and together with THE LUMINEERS, JIMMY EAT WORLD, FOALS, OF MONSTERS AND MEN, and NOTHING BUT THIEVES, they enrich the line-up with different kinds of Rock. Harder sounds come from the Metalcore giants of KILLSWITCH ENGAGE from Massachusetts, BAD RELIGION from the Punk metropolis Los Angeles, MILLENCOLIN from Sweden, and the German Punk guarantors of TURBOSTAAT. The Swedish band BLUES PILLS is what their band name is about, while THE DEAD SOUTH stand for thrilling Folk and Bluegrass. NECK DEEP from Great Britain are known for their well-done Pop Punk. MAYDAY PARADE, PUP, BRUTUS, and FLASH FORWARD bring their guitars, too, and a portion of Reggae is added by the unmistakable style mix of SKINDRED.
The Irish singer-songwriter DERMOT KENNEDY and THEES UHLMANN & BAND both stand for strong voices and intensive songs. With LP and TONES AND I, another great female musicians will be on stage, and also GEORGIA and JC STEWART will show why they are songwriting icons. The only difference between the twin festivals is the Indie Pop Trio HELGEN - they only perform at the Hurricane. For friends of the spoken word, there will be the Hip-Hop and Trap band BHZ from Berlin-Schöneberg performing live to present their latest release. Recently, KELVYN COLT earned respect with his thoughtful sound, while the guys of ANTILOPEN GANG are a well-known guest.
For the Hurricane, there will be a limited contingent of day tickets on Monday, December 2. On that day, the next price level for both festivals becomes effective (details below). Hurricane tickets are available until Monday, December 2 at 12:00 p.m. each for EUR 189.00 via hurricane.de and eventim.de or by phone at +49 (0) 1806 / 853 333 (20 cents/call, mobile max. 60 cents/call). After that, the next price level of EUR 199.00 incl. pre-sale fee becomes effective. Additionally, on December 2, there will be a limited contingent of day tickets each for EUR 99.00 incl. pre-sale fee. The one-time arrival and departure with the Metronom trains is included in the ticket price. Transport conditions can be found at hurricane.de. Guests, who arrive with a caravan, trailer, or similar vehicle, require a caravan badge to enter the reserved trailer park. The caravan badges are available only at the festival website or by phone reservation each for EUR 60.00 per vehicle.
Southside tickets are available until Monday, December 2 at 12:00 p.m. each for EUR 199.00 via southside.de and eventim.de or by phone at +49 (0) 1806 / 853 444 (20 cents/call, mobile max. 60 cents/call). After that, the next price level of EUR 219.00 incl. pre-sale fee becomes effective. The one-time arrival and departure with all commuter trains of Baden-Wuerttemberg and parts of Bavaria is included in the ticket price. Transport conditions can be found at southside.de.
