The kings of melodic Black Metal, mighty DIMMU BORGIR from Norway, were forced to cancel their appearance at Italy`s GODS OF METAL festival that takes place from June 1st to 4th. Guitarist Silenoz had the following to say in a statement on the band`s official website, www.dimmu-borgir.com: “We apologize to everyone it may concern, we were very much looking forward to play this great festival, but due to a serious situation regarding one of our members’ health condition we have no other choice as it is beyond our control. We owe it to our business partners, fans and friends and perhaps mostly ourselves, to do a great gig, but this will not be possible under the given circumstances, unfortunately. Health will always have first priority.”Source: Newsletter

Seattle’s Nevermore are disappointed to announce that guitarist Steve Smyth will be unable to perform with the band on their upcoming four European festival dates, Italy’s Gods Of Metal, Germany’s Rock Hard, Sweden Rock, and Ireland’s Rock Fest Belfast. Recently diagnosed with end stage kidney failure, the result of a congenital birth defect, Smyth commented on the current state of his condition, “It is with deep regret that I will not be able to perform at the European festivals over the next week with Nevermore, as I am now in the hospital being treated with dialysis. The total kidney failure that I thought was a few months away has already happened. I am extremely disappointed with this situation, but there is nothing I can do. I wish the guys in Nevermore all the best and hope that as many of you fans as possible give them your support in Europe.” - NAPALM DEATH - New album in recording
