We are pleased to announce that ANCIENT RITES have found a new record label in Season of Mist, also the home of bands like the legendary MAYHEM, ROTTING CHRIST and ARCTURUS. Needless to say the band is really happy with both the new label and their return to the Spacelab recording studio in Germany.
The band started recording their new album on November 21st under the guidance and supervision of veteran AR producers Oliver Philipps and Christian Moos.
Everything is going well. So far, all drum and bass parts have been recorded. Guitars are up next. The album will most likely be released before the summer of 2006, after which ANCIENT RITES, now a septet since the return of former members Domingo Smets and Raf Jansen last year, will once again play live in support of their new album. Concerts all over Europe and the U.K. are being negotiated and arranged, so expect the band to be out there in full blast next year.

We have enlarged the Zeraphine Merchandise collection. We have new wrist bands, lighters and 2 different Zeraphine- Rings. The rings will be produced individually, depending on your ring size. This is how Covenant's new single "Ritual Noise" will look like when it arrives on January 20. It comes in 4 000 copies only, with a number of remixes and the exclusive B-side "Crossroads" as well as a sticker.There might be a North American edition too, since Metropolis and Storming the Base say the single will hold the two "B-sides" "XRDS" and "The Island" (as well as three versions of "Ritual Noise" - "Edit", "Main Version", "Alpha Jet"). "Ritual Noise" is said to stylistically sound reminiscent of Covenant's seminal album "Sequencer" mixed with the top notch production of the latest album "Northern Light" (which was a bit too polished for some fans). The delayed "Skyshaper" has a fixed release date now: March 24.
