One group that has definitely paid their fair share of dues is the Southern California based quintet IN THIS MOMENT who, through hard work, resiliency and an undying worldwide touring schedule have propelled themselves to the top of the heap of the metal pantheon. They have now returned with their most dynamic and focused offering, A Star-Crossed Wasteland, which is set for release on July 10th, 2010 all across Europe. For the recording of their 3rd studio album, A Star-Crossed Wasteland, IN THIS MOMENT once more chose to work with acclaimed producer Kevin Churko (Ozzy Osbourne, Five Finger Death Punch) at the Wolve’s Den Studio in Las Vegas.
With “At The Edge Of Time”, BLIND GUARDIAN will make their impressive return. After all, the band is amongst the melodic/prog protagonists in the genre of hard sounds with their ever forced, and on the new album literally celebrated musical innovations. ‘At The Edge Of Time’ once more emphasizes on ambitious, in parts orchestral compositions, going nearly without any synthetic sounds given the crystal clear production. The new album will be released on 30th July 2010 via Nuclear Blast/Warner, followed by an extensive European tour in autumn. Frontman Hansi Kürsch once summed up the credo of the band like that: “With every new album we’re aiming to redefine ourselves on a musical level.” Following the releases of the two last albums ‘A Night At The Opera’ and ‘A Twist In The Myth’ no critic would’ve dared to ask which spheres they were going to explore let alone which means they were going to achieve that with.
In the course of releasing the music documentary ‘Beyond The Lighted Stage’ about Canadian cult rock band RUSH, the DVD celebrates upfront premiers at selected cinemas. On Monday, 7th June, 8 PM UCI Kinowelt shows ‘Beyond The Lighted Stage’ as a one-time event. Directors Scot McFadyen and Sam Dunn, building a reputation for themselves with “Iron Maiden: Flight 666“ and “Metal: A Headbanger’s Journey“ already, cover in the documentary 40 years of rock music history from the band’s early years to the present, spiked with previously unreleased material from the archives, many Rock’n’Roll anecdotes and several interviews with prominent fans and contemporaries. The movie had its world premiere at this year’s Tribeca Film Festival in New York. Those cinemas will be airing the movie:
