Legendary British thrashers ONSLAUGHT have confirmed that their first ever UK festival appearance will take place at the 10th anniversary BLOODSTOCK OPEN AIR. After forming in 1983, ONSLAUGHT burst onto the burgeoning Thrash Metal scene, releasing 3 albums before disbanding in 1990 - but not before securing their place as one of the forefathers of British Thrash. Reforming in 2005 after seeing a huge resurgence of interest on the reissuing of their back catalogue, the band returned with a new album in 2007, rapturously received across the metal world. Now, as they prepare for album number five, the band will take time out for their only UK show of the year. States founding member and drummer Steve Grice:- Details

The next set of bands for the festival has just been ocnfirmed and adds even more diversity and quality to the line-up:Spetsnaz
Spetsnaz, named after a Russian special military unit that has developed a very effective combat technique, was founded in 2001 in Örebro, Sweden, by Stefan Nilsson and Pontus Stålberg. Inspired by path breaking bands like Nitzer Ebb, Front 242, Die Krupps and DAF, Spetsnaz arose as a reaction against the so-called future pop, and in order to revive everything that Nilsson and Stålberg considered to be "old school" EBM music. And if there is a band that is able to bring the EMB back to life in its classic form and with all its energy, it’s Spetsnaz. The band’s live show is as intense and sweaty as the music, with Pontus rushing across the stage like a rampaging dervish and screaming his head off, while Stefan brutally mauls the pads of his electronic percussion.

MORTEMIA's "Misere Mortem" is the latest work by gothic metal giant Morten Veland. His brand-new band's debut album continues to justify the Norwegian mastermind's outstanding reputation within the dark scene over the years. His signature compositions deliver smashing metal songs enveloped in sonorous and mythic choral arrangements, as well as sensual melody lines. The classical passages fit in perfectly with the overall atmosphere, refining with myriad details MORTEMIA's unique and melancholic sound, as only Veland can. It is the master himself, who lends his aggressive vocals to the nine new tracks, further embellishing them with a darkened aura.- Details

VAN CANTO's third album will be casting much doubt over the well established definition of metal. Don't come looking for screaming guitars or pounding bass on their latest work "Tribe of Force". These vocal giants forego the support of electronic devices to create powerful tracks fit for the most discriminating of head bangers. Van Canto's virtuous a cappella vocals build upon the rhythmic foundation of a mere drummer to create original compositions that will bring metal fans enthusiastically to their knees.- UNHEILIG - Show in Bochum is sold-out
