Legendary Australian Rock band MIDNIGHT OIL has announced that it will return to Europe for a series of shows in June / July this year. The concerts will take them to cities and venues they could not incorporate into their sensational “Great Circle” World Tour 2017, where more than 70 appearances in 16 countries have been sold out. Despite a 15-year hiatus, with front man Peter Garrett acting as Australian Government Minister, MIDNIGHT OIL reached the same phenomenal heights 2017, making them one of the most captivating live experiences of the ‘80s and ‘90s. Especially political songs such as ‘Beds Are Burning’, ‘Blue Sky Mining’ and ‘Power & The Passion’ are gaining more and more importance in the age of Trump and Brexit and received exuberant praise from critics on five continents.
The announcement of these new concert dates coincided with the release of a double live album and concert film titled ‘Armistice Day: Live At The Domain Sydney’. The recordings capture the band’s performance in full swing at the height of their 2017 World Tour. The DVD shot to number 1 of the charts and the album entered the top 5 in their home country.
Important Info: The venue has expanded its safety standards. Thus, there will be increased security controls. In order to avoid delays in the admission to the concert, they would like to ask the visitors to plan the arrival earlier and to refrain from carrying large bags. Backpacks and large bags must not be taken into the hall.
