Lamb of God, Decapitated, Huntress
2014 starts brutally well, with the standard-bearers of New Wave of American Heavy Metal: LAMB OF GOD. Few metal bands have released a series of albums literally stuffed with pounding, grooving and raging metal riffs the way LAMB OF GOD did over the last years. Their latest album dates from 2012 (‘Resolution’), but the band has announced to get back into the studio in 2014 to work on a new album. LAMB OF GOD will return to Europe at the start of the year for a series of concerts.
Support acts for the American rockers are also definitely worth mentioning. Polish death metal band DECAPITATED will warm up the audience. These guys are well-known in Tilburg, having entered the line-up of Neurotic Deathfest three years in a row. Their music can be categorized as technical death-metal, characterized by non-traditional death metal aesthetics, complex songwriting and lots of groove. Another noteworthy addition to this evening is the American band HUNTRESS, led by charismatic front woman Jill Janus. This relative newcomer in the scene has been making quite some yards over a short period of time. HUNTRESS makes grooving, occult heavy metal. Their debut album ‘Spell Eater’ was called “a magical debut from the hottest new act of 2012,” by Metalhammer.
