With their very special mélange made of Gaelic and Celtic tradition and modern rock and pop music, the six-piece quickly drew a lot of attention, starting already with their first albums ‘Play Gaellic’ and ‘Highland Connection’, released in 1978 and 1979. Through an already 30 years spanning musical career it made them one of the biggest players within the genre of folk-inspired rock and pop music. However, in 1997 after long-year lead singer Donnie Munro had gone into politics the band was left with uncertainty.
But eventually the band overcame the challenges brought up by that, established their new singer Bruce Guthro and following this were strong as before. RUNRIG’s live performances are impressive, emotional experiences and if you want to be a part of such an experience, you should quickly get to the next shop to secure yourself a ticket for RUNRIG in the course of their tour also will visit Germany and on 2nd September will hit Tanzbrunnen in Cologne and make it a fun place to be.
