The heaviest day in the park - is how the organization would describe this young festival that debuted in 2009 with big names like Moonspell, Meshuggah and The Dillinger Escape plan. As one of the few open air metal festivals in the Netherlands, the event was a big hit. The second edition was an even greater success. With bands such as Bullet for My Valentine, Killswitch Engage and Suicidal Tendencies, this festival proves to be a keeper.
In 2011, Fortarock takes place on Saturday 2nd of July in Park Brakkenstein in Nijmegen, The Netherlands. With a line-up ranging from absolute classic doom metal (Paradise Lost) to metal core (Parkway Drive) to black metal (Immortal), this festival is a definite must-see for every music fan with a soft spot for heavy drums, guitars and grunts (& cold beer on a hot summer day in the park!).
