Cypriot Stoner / Doom extravaganza STONUS came to be in 2015 shortly before participating in a school of Rock festival in Nicosia, Cyprus. They played a lot of gigs in 2017 making it their most active year to date. 2018 saw the recording of their first EP, ‘Lunar Eclipse’, and a year later they played abroad for the first time. After all, they are here on my desk and on my headphones. To call it a career highlight (or career low-point) to be reviewed by me will be rated by future generations. Jokes aside and serious mode on: the guys know their craft and the fuzz is strong with this ones, the vocals are a nice surprise as I don’t get reminded to OZZY OSBOURNE or one of the other usual suspects, bass and drums are also very present (I love it when I can hear the bass lines). The only thing that really bugs me is that the information about these guys is barely existent, the Facebook page mentions the names but you cannot find out who does what (seriously?). This makes it harder to narrate the review but hey, it makes the review also a bit shorter.
Conclusion: For fans of KYUSS, early BLACK SABBATH and the likes
