What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, what a relief this rule does not go for Cincinnati otherwise we would have missed SOLAR FLARE. What I did notice first is that abomination of a cover (ugly covers often point to great bands). Of course, the band is a bit odd but awesome, the vocals are a bit cheesy and strange but vocalist Loki Jackson hits the high notes and that’s where he pushes my buttons. Instrumentally this is typically Power Metal (everyone involved is really skilled). The quality of the band was obvious as they opened for acts like: ANTHRAX and JOE LYNN TURNER. The band states that their influences are bands like: IRON MAIDEN (composition-wise), BLIND GUARDIAN (epicness), BLACK SABBATH (vocals), JUDAS PRIEST (phrasing and vocals drive).
Conclusion: Check them out, this is a good first output but the second will be more mature and structured.
