Review Flash

Today on this Channel: HORNADO from Bonn, Germany! This five-piece band was formed in 2005 and ‘Supersonic Punch’ is their second full-length entry in the book of Heavy Metal. HORNADO play old-school Metal with epic elements influenced by JUDAS PRIEST, MANILLA ROAD and ACCEPT. They state that they do their music with passion, fire and steel. The sound is really Epic Metal inspired that I can admit right away, the vocals are rather uncut but if you are a fan of bands like MANILLA ROAD, CIRITH UNGOL or MEGATON SWORD you will dig them not despite but precisely because of that unpolished, raw strangeness. The songs are in the periphery of mid- to up-tempo, all with galloping riffs, high screams and thundering drums (what else can you want musically?). OK the production lacks the deluxe production of acts like TESTAMENT or any other mega label band but I think it serves the band and its sound just fine. I like them best when Dave sings in the mids (the most solid performance in his range).

Conclusion: If you like your metal raw, dirty and reeking of leather, steel and booze you ought to rock out with HORNADO
