It is always nice to say: “I was one of the writers that reviewed their first output”, just in case a band becomes super famous. SUPERLORD’s first output is this four-song EP called ‘Vs. Gargantuan’ and it hot me saying: “What the Fuzz?”. These guys sound like they studied the Gospel according to KYUSS, MONSTER MAGNET and FU MANCHU. The three-piece was formed in 2018 and hails from the UK. Style-wise they play Stoner / Doom Metal with a bigger portion of Stoner and Psychedelic than Doom. The riffs are tasty and breathe the spirit of the 70s while the vocals are mixed a bit too much into the background for my taste but all in all this shit really rips. Some bands remind you of times you never witnessed and that is always a good and kinda special trip to feel like that.
Conclusion: If you like the seventies, having a good time chilling with your buddies and listening to riffs on end, you should check out SUPERLORD.
