Review Flash

DRASTIC DOWN is a Hard Rock band from Seattle, Washington. The first thing most Rock music fans think when hearing of the city of Seattle typically is related to Grunge and the big names of that genre / movement (NIRVANA, PEARL JAM, SOUNDGARDEN and ALICE IN CHAINS). DRASTIC DOWN is not a Grunge band, but their sound is not devoid of influences when it comes to the mixture of Punk Rock and Heavy Metal. Sound-wise DRASTIC DOWN is somewhat related to Classic Rock, Old-School Metal and yes, even Grunge. Andy Brodigan’s voice has different tastes and colours (there is Ian Astbury, David Coverdale and a bit of Layne Staley wrestling for control to reach the inclined listener). The overall style the band plays draws heavily from the 70s, 80s and even Blues Rock and bits and pieces that remind of the 90s Grunge wave. To mix and weave these inspirations together to create an organic and pleasant sound is not an easy task but DRASTIC DOWN did a great job.

Conclusion: Check out ‘Falling like a Stone’ it is a convincing 3:45 minute ballad that relives the best of the 80s and 90s when it comes to heartache made audible.
