Every now and then a band comes into your life with a sound that is worth every second of your precious time, tonight that band is HEATHEN KINGS from Suffolk, UK. Sound-wise these guys remind me of a few legends like: MANOWAR, GRAD MAGUS, VISIGOTH, BLIND GUARDIAN and ETERNAL CHAMPION. Andrew Clarkes timbre is quite similar to that of Jake Rogers and his and Oscar Charlton’s riffs take me back to the legendary GRAND MAGUS gigs I was lucky enough to witness. Alex Body’s bass is a dead giveaway that he is inspired by Joey DeMaio’s bass skills and Joel Kurta’s efficient but nonintrusive way of drumming is a real treat. The vocal harmonies that induce the song really kickstart the Epic Metal journey that is ‘In The Hall Of The Kings’. I honestly cannot await to hear more of these guys, if they can keep up this quality the world will be theirs to conquer!
