Attention: this is a review for the cassette release of INCINERATE’s ‘Back To Reality’, the original release was in March via Dead by Dawn Records. INCINERATE are one of a bit-under-a-dozen bands with that name (the US alone has four). The Death / Thrash Metal three-piece was formed in 2008 and ‘Back To Reality’ is their second full-length output. Sound-wise this is rather harsh and raw but what can you expect if you mix Death and Thrash? Brutality with raw a fuck vocals groove to no end and drum patterns from the sixth circle of hell. God bless who ever mixed this piece of violent music because I can hear the bass lines underneath the rhythmic riff flak. Nils’ vocals are perfectly between Death and Thrash: energetic, aggressive, gritty yet not completely killing the groove through annihilation. The cassette format comes with a bonus in form of a tenth song (‘Erased Earth Live @Malle ‘15’).
Conclusion: If you dig old SEPULTURA, MALEVOLENT CREATION or DEMOLITION HAMMER this might be your poison.
