Review Flash

I am a writer for this magazine here since 2013, I reviewed a lot of stuff from different countries but never have I ever did a review of a band from my home town Herne. CUSTARD is old-school, formed in one of the Ruhr Area’s most indebted and infamous cities: Herne (I was born here I do know). CUSTARD has been around since 1987, Chris Klapper is the last man banging so to say because he is the only original member of the band. CUSTARD is a band on the same lines as HELLOWEEN or FIREFORCE, melody-driven, mid-tempo Power Metal with typical clean to high pitched vocals and a proper lyrical narrative that is not depending on girls, beer and other metal cliches. This time the lyrical theme revolves around the Roman Empire, loads of battle hymns to raise fist and glasses to, united in steel. Oliver Strasser’s vocals remind sometimes remind of Tim “Ripper” Owens or Michael Kiske, just the right man for this job. This is the bands seventh full-length record and in my honest opinion they really deserve their big breakthrough right now!

Conclusion: Typical but awesome Power Metal made in Germany, buy this!
