RISE OF KRONOS (ex-SURFACE) came into being in 2021 after playing under the name SURFACE since 2010. The band focuses on Greek mythology and named themselves after Kronos the titan, father of Zeus. Musically the band’s sound can only be described as akin to Swedish Death with hints of progressive Metal and even Hardcore here and there. Aside from being brutal as fuck, these guys really do have the balls to have a philosophic track called ‘Allegory Of The Cave’ which is based on a book by the famous Greek philosopher Platon. ‘Council Of Prediction’ is the band’s third full-length and I can whole-heartedly state that this piece of music is not for the faint of heart. The vocals are shared by guitarist Tom Robinson and bass-man Tim Broscheit and I can tell you: none of them sounds like an angel (rather the contrary but then again this IS Death Metal not a Care-bear tribute album). The band is joined by some high-profile guest musicians like Britta Görtz (HIRAES) and Thomas Gurrath (DEBAUCHERY) which adds fuel to the Death Metal flame.
Conclusion: If you always thirst for the next brick to the face record that leaves you bleeding but satisfied: this is the record for you!
