TASKFORCE TOXICATOR is a true as all fuck Thrash Metal outfit hailing from Münster, North Rhine-Westphalia, they formed about six years ago and graced the scene with earth-shattering EPs and singles since 2018. The year 2023 finally sees the band’s first-ever full-length offering and to spoil it a bit for you folks: this is a banger! The Metal genre itself is well known for citing pop culture and sometimes itself so it does not come as a surprise that the sound and overall energy of ‘Laser Samurai’ reminds me of the golden age of Thrash Metal.
Tracks like ‘If It Bleeds’ which by the way reminds me of PREDATOR (“If it bleeds, we can kill it”) or the title track ‘Laser Samurai’ (swords made of light, duh). One of my faves on this one is ‘Funeral Feast’ it has a dope chorus, neck breaking passages and that kind of vocals that makes you raise your fist to the sky and shout along. The riffs provided by Dominik Rothe and Lars Wenning are nothing short of a shreddergeddon, if my heart would pump with the rate of Lars Gerding’s drumming I would not make it past the exquisite opener (because it would obviously explode, duh!). There is not a thing about this that I can criticize or pick apart which is kinda strange to be honest, it is just one hell of a ride and I am looking forward to seeing these guys on tour very soon.
Conclusion: One of the contenders for record of the year, well done dudes
