Robert Enforsen
Robert Enforsen was the voice of ELEGANT MACHINERY. The sound of the Swedish band was influenced in the early years by electronic bands like DEPECHE MODE, HUMAN LEAGUE and YAZOO. The debut album, ‘Degraded Faces’, was released more than 20 years ago, starting point of a career as one of the finest bands in Synth Pop. After a split in 1998/1999, the band reunited in 2005 and released with ‘A soft exchange’ a new album in 2008. Two singles and several live performances later, ELEGANT MACHINERY was again put to rest in 2011. Robert is also known as singer of several synth and electro pop projects like HYPE, their great album ‘Desperately Yours’ from 2006 unfortunately never had a follow-up. In his solo appearance in Jena he used to play songs not only from ELEGANT MACHINERY, but also two songs from HYPE on stage.

Birdy & Billy Locket
Mostly you can imagine which band will play, if you see the audience. At this evening it was a little bit difficult to figure out because there were people from very young to quite old. In front of the Astra Kulturhaus you could see two well-behaved queues waiting for entry. The location was filled very fast and BILLY LOCKETT (as support) had an easy game. He gathered not the whole attention but the audience applauded a lot.

Laibach - “Spectre” Tour
With their new album 'Spectre' LAIBACH truly managed to re-invent themselves, aspiring for a much more accessible and even poppier sound while the concept behind 'Spectre' is, at first sight, less ambiguous than previous LAIBACH works, albeit political as ever. LAIBACH seems to take sides with Occupy, Snowden, Manning & Co. and predict that “Europe is falling apart”. We took sides with LAIBACH and checked out their 'Spectre' tour in Cologne.

Editors & Paon
EDITORS are a studied four-piece hailing from England’s agrestic periphery. Musically, the band’s sound is clearly reminiscent of JOY DIVISION, ECHO & THE BUNNYMEN and early R.E.M not least due to the dark baritone timbre of singer Tom Smith catering for a pinch of melancholy besides the energy of the songs. Last year, the band released a new album which was already accompanied by a tour in autumn. Due to huge success, some more dates were added and we took the chance to see the band in Bielefeld where EDITORS were supported by Belgium PAON. The hall on that evening was crowded. I guess that more than 2,000 fans made their way to see EDITORS in Bielefeld.
