Serj Tankian, Viza & The Hollywood Arson Project
The Lebanese-born Armenian-American singer, songwriter, poet, activist, and multi-instrumentalist SERJ TANKIAN is probably better known as the leading voice of the alternative metal band SYSTEM OF A DOWN with which he released five albums. Now he’s touring Europe with his new solo album, stopping by in Oberhausen as well. The hall was not totally sold-out, but really packed when Serj started. But it was really well filled already when not announced opener THE HOLLYWOOD ARSON PROJECT entered the stage at 19:30, 30 minutes before the scheduled starting time…

Covenant & Solar Fake
COVENANT re-released their debut album ‘Dreams of a Cryotank’ in September 2012. So it was time to celebrate this fact with a live tour including all tracks of the album and playing a best-of selection of their songs. Also a limited picture LP was sold on several online shops and at the shows to celebrate ‘Dreams of a Cryotank’.

4Lyn & Fire In Fairyland
4LYN are back on track following a long period of dormancy over difficulties and they were building up steam during that time. Something that needs releasing sooner or later. 4LYN did it with the release of their most recent album 'Quasar' in this year's May. But this is certainly just a vanguard or meant as preparation for the real strike which is now going to follow with 4LYN hitting the road to push their audience physically and mentally to the limit until they're begging for mercy. The Bochum show was just the second of their ‘Quasar’ tour.

Sparks - acoustic
During their “Two Hands, One Mouth“ tour, SPARKS were playing four shows in Germany, the last oft hem being Bochum. Anyone thinking of SPARKS will probably remember ‘When do I get to sing My Way‘ from the mod nineties and after last night’s show, this song still is sticking in my head as I am writing this article…

The Cranberries & Stonedrifters Sound Brigade
On this autumnal evening, the Max-Schmeling-Halle was nearly three quarters full. There was a broad variety of public waiting for THE CRANBERRIES: Middle aged people, who had spent their youth listening to THE CRANBERRIES, younger fans of today and even some older guests were crowding the hall.
