15th of June 2008
Kiss, Motorhead, Whitesnake, Twisted Sister, Def Leppard, Kansas, Journey, Gotthard, REO Speedwagon
The sixth year in a row for the Arrow Rock Festival. This years line-up brought big promises. Only one cancellation (3 doors down) left us 9 rock bands to enjoy. Most of them have been together and the headliner of the day Kiss was having their 35 anniversary! But did that influence their performance? Well, not in a bad way, that is for sure.
The weather was better than predicted at first. Sun with a bit of rain, actually quite nice festival weather. On the festival grounds there were of course some shops to get some new shirts, albums, posters etc. There was even some extra entertainment, consisting of a parade of strange machines with even stranger drivers riding around the field. They seemed to have come out of a fantasy movie. Since the headliner was Kiss you could have your face painted just like one of its members. It was fun to see more and more painted faces during the day.

5th June 2008
H-Blockx, Pohlmann
The JuWi Fest is the campus festival of the university in Münster and this year it was already the 33rd JuWi Fest taking place. Started as a small afternoon party, the festival is now best known also outside the student city Münster. This year’s fest offered all in all two outdoor stages and an indoor stage with several bands performing live in front of about 4.500 visitors. Headliner of the fest was local heroes H-BLOCKX and we wanted to take our chance to see the guys rocking the stage. We arrived early enough on this warm early summer evening to start relaxed with POHLMANN into the night.

Zita Rock Festival: Down Below, Zeromancer, Eisbrecher, Dreadful Shadows, Unheilig, ASP and Subway to Sally
It was a real hot morning when we took off for Berlin. After travelling for about 1.5 hours, we finally got there and already a lot of people were waiting to get in. It didn’t matter where you were looking at, everywhere you could see people dressed in black. With bands like EISBRECHER, UNHEILIG and ASP it was promised to be a great day!

ROCK HARD Festival Day 1+2: Die Apokalyptischen Reiter, Testament, Moonsorrow, Helstar, Enslaved, Exciter, Amorphis, Exodus, Immortal
The Rock Hard Festival took place for the sixth time in a row this year and it was my first visit there, which turned out to be a fantastic idea and so I'm sure I'll be there next year, too. The festival history began in 2003 when famous Rock Hard magazine celebrated its 20th anniversary. Originally planned as a singular event, the great success of the performance led to a regular Rock Hard Festival, annually taking place on Whitsun. The location is the Amphitheater in Gelsenkirchen, quite an unusual place for a festival; it’s a real amphitheatre directly next to the Rhein-Herne-Kanal. So good view for nearly everyone, you can sit down whenever you get tired of banging and crowd surfing, no mud in case of rain - which some people surely regret - and the water close-by always provides a cool breeze. So, all in all best conditions for a relaxed festival weekend.
