Wednesday 13
After being to several concerts by WEDNESDAY 13, I already knew what was to come: yet another great show. The announced band Serpico wasn't along for the tour as they had problems with leaving the UK, so WEDNESDAY 13 was playing an extended gig.

METALLIC NOISE FESTIVAL (MNF): Grave, Ektomorf, Dew-Scented, Goddess Of Desire, Totenmond, Karkadan, Runamok, Not Tonight Josephine, Creature
Things didn't really work out for me this December Sunday, so I was quite late when I finally arrived at the Rockfabrik. There was no great action in front of the venue, just a few people smoking outside; same situation inside, the Rockfabrik was nearly empty, a fact maybe not surprising when one considers the early daytime - the festival had opened its doors at 2pm.

Queensryche “2008 Take Cover Tour” and Don Dokken
Queensryche was formed in the Seattle suburbs in 1981, 27 years ago (how time flies!) and four of the five original members are still in the lineup, which makes for an excellently choreographed and rehearsed visual treat for taking a variety of photos. The experience of the group has made each of these talented musicians extremely comfortable playing together and individually – very tightly bonded. The band consists of: classically trained singer, Geoff Tate, bassist, Eddie Jackson, drummer, Scott Rockenfield and the two guitarists (original) Michael Wilton and (2003 addition) Mike Stone. http://www.queensryche.com/ / www.myspace.com/Queensryche

La-Ventura
For their first gig of 2008, the Dutch rock/metal band La-Ventura chose the world capital of the diamonds, Antwerp, in a place called PandDemonium, a genuine gothic café, situated right in the middle of the old city centre, just a few steps away from the main square and the city hall. The band gave an acoustic concert in the afternoon, followed by a signing session and a photo shoot in the old city. The full concert started later at 20h30 in front of an enthousiastic audience that had filled the small room of the Panddemonium. Between 50 and 100 people were present to discover or support this new female fronted alternative metal band. Organisation: Sunshine Concerts.

Sono
When I saw the band for the first time in Krefeld, I was very impressed by their live performance and so I couldn’t resist when I was asked if I wanted to go to another concert. And so, I was looking forward to see the band again, this time at the Zeche Carl in Essen.
