Dream Theater - “The Distance Over Time Tour” - Celebrating 20 years of ‘Scenes From A Memory’
During “The Distance Over Time Tour” DREAM THEATER will play almost thirty concerts throughout Europe. I had a chance and privilege to take part in the Polish part of it. On 16th February the Prog Metal legend played a special concert in Orbita Hall in Wroclaw; a fantastic celebration of sonic artistry, rich show and incredible atmosphere made it one of the highlights of this winter. On the occasion of the 35th anniversary of their activity, the band prepared a special three-hour set for their fans, including, among others: the performance of the cult album ‘Metropolis pt. 2: Scenes From A Memory’ in full.

Alcest - “Spiritual Instinct” European Tour 2020 - Support: Birds in Row, Kaelan Mikla
What else can be better after a week of hard work than going to gig on a Friday evening to clear your mind? The event at Hanover’s Capitol was my light house for the whole week and I was pleased to arrive just in time to see the opener of the evening, KAELAN MIKLA.

Tenacious D - “Post-Apocalypto: The Tour” Europe 2020
Finally it happened: the legendary Hollywood Duo Kyle Gass and Jack Black have visited Luxembourg where they presented their new album ‘Post-Apocalypto’ with the support of the group WYNCHESTER. Needless to say that their show was one of the long-awaited events in the beginning of 2020 and was almost immediately sold out! We had the luck to see the duo at the Rock am Ring Festival in Nuremberg June 2019 where they did one of the most entertaining shows at the weekend. So we were really excited to see how they would perform their new album alongside their very-well known songs that most of us sang at parties with all our heart with friends.

3teeth - UK/EU tour 2020 - Support: Stake
One of two concerts I am visiting this month for Reflections of Darkness and actually on a Monday evening mid-February. Not really a typical day to go out to have some drinks and enjoy some live music - on the other hand why actually not and just extend the birthday weekend?

Dropkick Murphys & Support: Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls, Jesse Ahern
If you had seen the DROPKICK MURPHYS live on stage during their time at the cult label Hellcat, you got an idea of the long breathing of the band. Indeed: Since more than 20 years, the DROPKICKS step on the gas and their mixture of Street Punk and Irish Folk explodes since the first day. The last album of singer Ken Casey and his band mates - that was released in 2017 under the name ‘11 Short Stories of Pain & Glory’ - gave proof. It’s a fitting title, because most of their songs are exactly what the title promises: well told short stories, that are fed by the Irish and American culture, and that are good to dance and sing with. Now, the band from Quincy, Massachusetts, came back to Germany, also with a stop in Dortmund.
