Album Review
Nimród Antal, director of Predators, Kontroll, has took it upon him to show METALLICA’s best songs in a sort of a semi-story, that is through a roadie’s “urgent mission” during the band’s live set, obviously within a sold-out arena. It doesn’t really sound like something ground-breaking, and I’m even sure that fans had heard the classics live before, wait... apparently it turns into surreal adventure after all. What we have here is a soundtrack, that is only CD to review but trailer and tasters can be found... it’s internet age after all. OK, the live performance is punctured with some mishmash of assortment of disaster movies (including trying to impress with a Walking Dead crossover impression thrown within that) and teenage hero cut out of the whole scope of merchandise already available, in other words, daft and cheesy; Hollywood pretending simple crap is profound and complex (as usual).
Am I bored or am I bored? Great quality, nice visuals, but nice packaging of an empty box or useless thing wears out – unless you’re a kid and Christmas wrapping is still pretty awesome. Yes. I really like METALLICA but this is commercial bullshit of first degree. I guess trying to be off-track and pissing fans and metal critics with ‘Lulu’ (that is especially when Metal Hammer said Lulu’s shit all the non-conformists had to agree with the Holy writ) the band thought to butter up with a crowd-pleaser. Well, I’m not buying either; even as a soundtrack it’s really nothing new and very little to talk about – to use commercial language – market is already saturated. Oh wait, this is meant to bring teenagers in, if it’s so, they should have just thrown in an iPhone competition and not bothered with the film at all (because even the teen market is already saturated to nausea with those).
