Swiss band STONEMAN is another pearl in the necklace of the modern German speaking music. That means the musicians found the great balance of music causing head banging and/or dancing, folk elements and thoughtful lyrics in German. 'Goldmarie' is already the fifth studio album of the STONEMAN. After years of cooperation with the German label Twilight the band switched to the label of Bruno Kramm. The fact that Kramm got interested in the band should be another point for listening to it.
The listener could easily hear the influences of such bands as MEGAHERZ, WITT, ASP and IN EXTREMO. The mixture of the electronic guitars, wall of easy to follow drums, some computer special effects and deep powerful male vocals is the safe way to win. Founded in 2004 STONEMAN is one of those bands which prove that the interest for pop-rock version of NDH will be there for many years. The gates to the world scene were opened after RAMMSTEIN made people in the whole world learn German language to understand the lyrics and such bands as OOMPH! and MEGAHERZ popularized heavy industrial music. In case of the lyrics STONEMAN also adheres to the tendencies of the genre.
Formula is easy: faith (‘Goldmarie’), love (‘Liebe Liebe’, ‘Lolita’), death (‘Mord ist Kunst’ = ‘Murder is art’). As the result STONEMAN's 'Goldmarie' is another high quality worthy German speaking heavy pop-rock album. It will surely find its place in the collection of fans of modern German rock and frequenters of German summer festivals such as AMPHI and M’era Luna.
