Single Review

‘Little Buddha’ is the new digital single of German dark pop formation TRANSIT POETRY and staying true to its title, the material presented on the single really gives a possibility to meditate and relax for a while. The beginning of the opening piece calls up associations with some Christmas songs but later on it turns into a complete, but not complicated, peaceful melody supplemented with unobtrusive vocals. The lyrics don’t produce too strong impression at least at first, and the chorus that seems to be a little bit more powerful periodically spoils the whole atmosphere of pacification. However the composition pleases afterwards while its club version is a bit longer and more energetic, definitely meant for dance floors, I guess.

‘Astronauts & Butterflies’ proves its title and, following the tendency of its predecessors, gently carries a listener away to other galaxies. Again the track is presented in two versions, radio and club respectively, and again the club one is apparently more danceable. Slightly gloomy or even despondent ‘Garden of Sacred Solitude’ with the same measured rhythm can allow you to concentrate on your inner world. The final song is even more thought-provoking and maybe darker. In general, it’s just a good closing for a good work, which obviously will suit the taste of fans of the genre.
