In the past weeks a lot of rumours were spread concerning the E-tropolis, along with speculations about its concept, the location, the bands and a lot more! Now, after all these questions, the time is right for the answers. For many years now the annual festival season offered numerous open air events of the most different styles, such as goth festivals, metal open airs, hip-hop events and many more. Again a pure electro open air was missing ever since. With the E-tropolis Festival the search for an open air electro blockbuster, will find an end. As the name „E-tropolis“- in silent association with the expressionistic imagery of Fritz Lang´s movie classic „Metropolis“ – implies, the focus of the festival concentrates entirely on the world of machines.
By that, the E-tropolis Festival comprises a wide range of different electronic styles in a unique, electrifying open air event, featuring classic EBM, harsh Industrial- & Cyberelectro, Synth-Pop- and alternative dance acts in one pulsating stream of synthetic music.
E-TROPOLIS 2010 – THE PROGRAMME
For its premiere the E-tropolis Festival has already chosen five current-charged bands, allowing themselves to submit the festival to their massive sound-consecration. Part of the line-up so far:

An interesting supporting programme includes autograph sessions, an extensive shopping mile, live coverage of the soccer world championship (round of the last 16 match), an after-show party on the citadel-ground and much more.
E-TROPOLIS 2010 – THE VENUE
The famous Citadel Spandau, home of the E-tropolis Festival 2010, is even worth a visit on ist own! Constructed trough the years 1559 till 1594, after the concept of the Italian architect Francesco Chiaramella de Gandino, the “Rock along the Havel” belongs to Europe´s most important and best preserved renaissance fortresses to date. Its massive, water-surrounded walls expand to a length of up to 208 meters, while the citadel´s inner courtyard harbours the landmark of the district of Spandau with the 30 meter high „Juliustower“ - a favourite setting of the German film- and television industry in the 1960´s.
Today the citadel fills a new purpose, offering optimal conditions for open air festivals, with room for up to 10.000 Electroheads, including sufficient parking facilities nearby, as well as excellent rail and flight-connections opening the door to visitors worldwide.
