Please read CAREFULLY:As it has transpired during recent talks with the Bavarian police, there will be stricter checks during arrival and departure and on the entire festival site for the whole duration of the festival. Please take note and refrain from bringing any objects and substances that are considered illegal. These will not be tolerated from the promoters’ side either and will only cause trouble. Furthermore, in your own and everyone else’s interest, you should only get behind the wheel of your car in an absolutely sober and well rested condition.
Unfortunately our festival – just like any other big event – is not immune to thievery. Usually, it is organized gangs who try to get your wallets in the crowd in front of the stages. So please make sure that your wallets are kept safe! Furthermore, please don’t leave any valuable items or car keys in your tent, and make sure your car is locked before you leave your tent!
Should you be looking to buy 3-day tickets around the festival site, make sure you are not victim of ticket counterfeiting! The original SUMMER BREEZE tickets are embossed and have a pattern on the top side while the bottom side’s surface is flat. If you have the slightest doubt about the authenticity of tickets offered to you, please inform our security personnel about the seller’s whereabouts and purchase one-day tickets instead, which will be available from Thursday at 10am from the festival box office.
2.: SUMMER BREEZE Open Air 2010 @ social networks
From now on, when you enter www.summer-breeze.de, you will get directly to the intersection with all social networks on which SUMMER BREEZE Open Air is regularly present. This service is meant for all those who unfortunately have to stay home, as well as all festivalgoers who want to actively contribute to providing the poor souls back home with to-the-minute impressions from the festival site.
From Monday, August 16th at the latest, you will be kept up-to-date with fresh clips about the set-up and later with entertaining impressions from the festival on our YouTube channel. Our Twitter channel will regularly be updated with news about the latest happenings in Dinkelsbühl. On the new Twitter wall anyone can post their spontaneous comments from the stage area or the campsite using the code #sboa10. The same thing applies to the Facebook live stream.
On the latter two channels (Twitter and Facebook) you will even be able to submerge yourself in the bowels of SUMMER BREEZE Open Air 2010, as members of the crew and the playing bands will communicate their impressions and experiences using the Twitter wall and the Facebook live stream.
Last but not least, all relevant informations such as the Festival ABC, the Running Order and the Site Map are available as a consolidated download.
3.: Cancellations: BEHEMOTH + THE MEAN; replacementS: ENDSTILLE + DOWNSPIRIT
Attentive fans of the band have probably realized already by checking BEHEMOTH’s homepage: Due to a serious disease of front man Nergal these Polish have to cancel any live activities until the end of November. This would also affect the SUMMER BREEZE show which probably quite some of you were looking forward to already.
But our diligent and nimble booking dept. has quickly managed to find an replacement. ENDSTILLE will tear down the party stage at midnight between Thursday and Friday with their merciless Black Metal. RAISED FIST will conquer BEHEMOTH’s slot on the Pain Stage.
This way we do hope to compensate this loss of BEHEMOTH which happened on a very short notice. Best wishes to Negal. May he be well again soon. Unfortunately THE MEAN had to cancel their Friday gig at the Camel Stage as well. The Stuttgart based DOWNSPIRIT will step in at short notice.
4.: SUMMER BREEZE Merchandise
We also would like to draw you attention to our merchandise. In 2010 we will be offering material of an even higher quality than in previous years. T-shirts, Girlie shirts and some other articles we obtain from Hakro company (www.hakro.com).
All Hakro products are lightfast and colourfast as well as dimensionally stable and of long lasting quality, they are said to be one of the highest quality textile material available. The different of quality you will realize by just grabbing it. Despite that these articles are “Öko Tex Standard 100” certified and have a Seal of approval for „Textiles Vertrauen (Textile Trust)“. Some of the stuff is also certified UV Standard 801 which also saves from UV radiation.

5.: SUMMER BREEZE Rockstool
In addition to the above mentioned textiles and Moskito Repellers offered in previous newsletter we have another novelty for 2010’s Merchandise product line: The SUMMER BREEZE Rockstool!
You know the feeling to well standing in front of the stage for ages because the floor you are standing on is not really what you would sit on. But what can you sit upon as camping chairs are not handy enough to be carried around? The Rockstool will be the solution from now on. It comes in a compact packaging and can be recycled in full. It is made of paper and nearly free of weight. Due to a plastic saver it is also waterproof. Being supplied fold flat you just have to unfold it to have a perfect opportunity to enjoy the lack between the shows while sitting.
Price for the Rockstool will be 5,- Euro plus a 1,- Euro deposit. So in case you do not want to take the seat back home you can just give it back where you have bought it to avoid unnecessary rubbish on the camping site. Enjoy sitting!
6.: END OF GREEN Midnight Sale
On August 20th, 2010, just in time for the SUMMER BREEZE open air END OF GREEN’s new masterpiece ‘High Hopes In Low Places’ will see the light of day. The night from Thursday (August 19th) to Friday (August 20th) will see the world’s exclusive sales start of the limited box set at the metal.de booth. The band will show up completely and do a little signing session, too.
‚High Hopes In Low Places‘ has become record of the month in both magazines, Zillo and Orkus with highly rated reviews and is generally highly acclaimed by the media. The record consists of catchy tunes as well as deep dark razor blade moments. Attracting Alternative fans and shade loving freaks at the same time. A worthy follow up to the hit record ‘The Sick’s Sense’.
