1.: First headliner confirmedMerry Christmas! Now that we're halfway through our Advent Calendar, which has had plenty of killer bands so far, we want to present you the first headliner for SUMMER BREEZE 2011:
They are one of the most relevant and successful heavy metal bands of the last 15 years, yet they have never played at SUMMER BREEZE. It's about time to change that! We are extremely happy to present HAMMERFALL as one of this year's headliners! The undisputed leaders of true metal have loads of metal anthems and catchy melodies under their belt, after they almost single-handedly put traditional power metal back on the map with their glorious 1997 debut 'Glory To The Brave'. And what started as a fairytale became a metal dream come true, including high chart entries all over Europe for every one of their seven studio albums. If each of you goes back in time for a minute, you will certainly remember at least one metal party where you were banging your fists singing along to hymns such as 'Steel Meets Steel', 'Hearts on Fire' or 'Heeding The Call'. To put it in their own words: “Brothers unite! Let's stand up and fight!”

The following program items await you:
-Guest presenter DER CHECKER (exactly, the guy from the car show on DMAX) takes you on a humorous guided tour of the medieval city of Dinkelsbühl.
-In an exclusive interview, top comedian BÜLENT CEYLAN explains why he's playing a metal festival, which bands he enjoys personally, and what he, as a Mannheim native, thinks of the Hoffenheim team.
-On a long walking tour of the camp site and porta-loo town, dozens of fans from all over Europe describe the atmosphere on the festival, explain what kind of equipment is needed, narrate what their journey was like, discuss whether wet toilet paper is metal or not, and reveal what makes the special SUMMER BREEZE flair.
-A special report about the technical aspect of the festival offers a look behind the scenes and shows us how many tons of lighting and sound equipment are needed.
-Not only due to the terrible tragedy at the Love Parade in Duisburg, rockinvasion present our extremely conscientious security concept, which is designed by the city of Dinkelsbühl in collaboration with the organizers, emergency recue teams, the police and the fire brigade.
-There's no globalization at SUMMER BREEZE. It is a tradition for the festival to work with medium sized local businesses. The boss of the Hauf brewery is interviewed about this subject on site.
-RAGE explain their recent decision to separate the LINGUA MORTIS ORCHESTRA from the band and keep it going as a side project.
-EISBRECHER leader Alexx Wesselsky tells us about his meeting with Alice Cooper and the chaotic circumstances surrounding his band's 2007 appearance at SUMMER BREEZE.
