ald_bandThis week, A LIFE DIVIDED started their tour with Finnish dark cellists of APOCALYPTICA and spent their night after the first show in Ljubljana in a hotel that used to be a prison. Some of its sections still remind of the building’s moving past. Still, there’s no thinking of calling the band jail birds, but shooting stars in terms of success. The Bavarian band plays to audiences of nearly 4000 attendees each evening on that tour with APOCALYPTICA. In Germany, the guys are playing in Munich, Stuttgart and Frankfurt.

The current single ‘Heart On Fire’ off the recently released debut album ‘Passengers’ still is on rotation of several radio station and the King Channel. Coinciding with the live shows at Stuttgart’s Theaterhaus and Frankfurt’s Hugenottenhalle, the second single ‘Words’ will be released. The profound, thought-provoking, melancholic rock ballad touches on the subject of a very candid and direct self-reflection. “It’s about our flaws and about how we’re dealing with them“, says singer Jürgen Plangger. “Sometimes you’re making rash decisions or you’re getting fooled into doing something by false feelings. This is just human. In the end it’s about how to deal with everything and if you can own those things up to yourself.”

But there’s no need for being overly melancholic at the German live shows of A LIFE DIVIDED and APOCALYPTICA; people are supposed to enjoy the shows of these two exceptional bands. Those concerts are all about atmosphere. Anyway, the band spent the night well in the former prison. “It was somewhat different from what I’ve expected", says Jürgen Plangger with a grin. “I connected making rock music and going on tour with girls and champagne, rather than staying at a hotel with bars.”
