3.: Band cancellation: CROWBAR
Unfortunately, New Orleans' sludge/doom/core heroes CROWBAR have to cancel their scheduled appearance at SUMMER BREEZE Open Air 2011. There has been a death in the band's closer circle which has forced them to change their plans for July/August. A big sorry goes out to all those who were looking forward to seeing Kirk Windstein and his crew. We will not rest until we are able to book the band for SUMMER BREEZE in the years to come.
4.: Arrival and departure with public transport
For all those who don't travel by car, we have again gathered all the information you need to get to the festival by bus and train easily and with no hassle. For the first time there is also a shuttle service available from Stuttgart airport and Stuttgart central station to the festival. This shuttle service is operated by long time SUMMER BREEZE partners Mondial Reisen.

5.: New Blood Award 2011
Three weeks have passed already since the application deadline for the New Blood Award 2011. What can we say? You guys are mad! The inclusion of international bands has caused another increase in the number of applications, showing us the significance this event has already reached. From Singapore to New Zealand to the far North, interesting band submissions have been pouring in, ready to fight for their place on the billing. Now it's time for the difficult process of preselection in our living room, which is already bursting at the seams, giving you a slight idea of all the work and organized chaos that lie ahead.
That's it already about the current state of affairs surrounding the New Blood Award. All we have left to say is to thank you for over 2,000 applications from all around the globe. We at the SUMMER BREEZE and METAL.DE teams now ask you for a little patience for the preselection. Soon we will give you more information on the newly designed New Blood Award homepage.
But listen up! In 2012, coinciding with the 15th anniversary of SUMMER BREEZE, the sixth round will be held, and you can obviously start applying for a slot already. All submissions that have reached us after March 31st, 2011 will automatically enter the preselection for next year.
