1.: SUMMER BREEZE app
We got it finished just in time for SUMMER BREEZE Open Air 2011: our free SUMMER BREEZE app, available at AppStore and Android Market.
Enjoy the advantages of a customized running order and a tent finder, which will always take you back to your sleeping place. The app also includes all info about the festival (ABC, site map, etc.) and the bands playing. A news feed will always keep you up-to-date in case there's announcements or changes at short notice. Impossible to be more connected. You won't get any closer to all the action happening at SUMMER BREEZE Open Air 2011.
2.: Updated Festival ABC online
Only a little under three weeks left until SUMMER BREEZE Open Air 2011. In order to make your stay in Dinkelsbühl as smooth, stress-free and memorable as possible, we have completed our Festival ABC with all the information you can possibly need. Please take the time to read it carefully and act accordingly! This way you will save us and our security team a lot of work and stress. Thanks in advance!
3.: Water supply improved all over the festival site
In the last few years, the water supply on the festival site was one of the main points of criticism brought to us. Besides many other improvements, this year we are able to announce an important change in this field: The water supply at SUMMER BREEZE 2011 will be completely renewed and overhauled. Instead of the containers used in previous years, this year there will be several water stations. These are all marked on the site map. All these water stations will provide drinking water only. Furthermore and besides the portable toilets, there will also be flushable toilets in the concert area available for money, as well as a free water station to wash your hands.
4.: Cancellations: REVAMP + BLITZKID; Substitutes: HELL + STAHLMANN
Unfortunately, we have to announce that REVAMP, the gothic metal band fronted by Dutch mega-voice Floor Jansen, and US horror punks BLITZKID have had to cancel their appearances at SUMMER BREEZE Open Air 2011. Our apologies to all of you who were looking forward to these shows. We will not rest until we can book them again for SUMMER BREEZE in the coming years.
However, we can proudly present their subsitutes. English NWOBHM legends HELL will make the Nuclear Blast Label Night quake, while German industrial/gothic metallers STAHLMANN will also be catering to your well-being and entertainment with their steel hard sound. Horns up!
5.: Now online: Site map and packing list
The new site map, which has had a few changes to it since last year, is now available for download under the following LINK.
As a new feature this year we present the SUMMER BREEZE packing list. Download the file HERE and make sure you pack everything you need to survive the SUMMER BREEZE Open Air 2011 before you leave for Dinkelsbühl.
6.: Still water for half the price
Due to a great demand among our festival clientelle for a low-priced, thirst-quenching beverage, for the first time at SUMMER BREEZE this year there will be still water in our range of beverages. All bubble haters can pick up their water for half price (€1.50 for 0.4l) at a stand left of the Main Stage, next to the entrance to the VIP area. Cheers!
7.: NEW BLOOD AWARD: Finalists presented by metal.de
There are six bands in the finals of this year's NEW BLOOD AWARD who will compete against each other at SUMMER BREEZE Open Air 2011. 2,000 unsigned bands from all over the world applied, and it was ARCTURON, DAVIDIAN, FAREWELL TO ARMS, KILT, SHEAR and STEVE FROM ENGLAND who got the majority vote by the SUMMER BREEZE community members. On Wednesday, August 17th, 2011 from 15:00 these bands will kick off the metal proceedings for SUMMER BREEZE 2011 in the Party Tent in front of you as well as a specialist jury, seeking to take the NEW BLOOD AWARD trophy home. The winning band will also open the festival on one of the main stages the following day.
